Birthplace of Andreas Halkiopoulos

The birth place of Andreas Halkiopoulos (also Chalkiopoulos) is a mystery. Family has long maintained that he came from the Ionian Island of Cephalonia (Kefalinia). While birth records exist for that island, one must know the name of the village and/or church in order to find the information. He died in the 1930s, and I have no paperwork that provides a specific birthplace for him. Cephalonia is listed on birth documents of his children. Santorini (Thira), however, is mentioned on his wife's Greek Passport. I also know from his son, who is deceased, that the family owned land from a long time ago in Crete. He returned to Crete, researched the land records and found that squatters had claimed the property years ago. All this expands the possible location of the actual birth of Andreas Halkiopoulos.

Andreas' parents were Haralambos and Assymina Halkiopoulos. Andreas was born about 1889. He went to school in Europe somewhere and became a mechanic and went to Alexandria Egypt to introduce some of the first automobilies in Egypt. Lost Polish Family in Sonsk Parish, Warsaw and Bialystok

Below are Polish family members of the 20th century that I am attempting to trace. Some of the names came from old pictures from before 1939 months before the Nazis invaded Poland. Other names came from address written on a scrap of paper  in the 1960s (see http://jendrzejewski.net/clues.html) that I got from my father before he died. The addresses on that paper and a 1949 Warsaw telephone directory point to some addresses that were located right in the Warsaw Ghetto.

If you have ideas about how to search for the decsendants of any of these people, I would certainly appreciate your posting a message on this blog.
